The Magician Tarot card meaning deals with the ability to utilize every resource we have available to us. When we think of the Magician, we must understand that there is no question of power. The Magician has absolute power over all circumstances. Simply put, the Magician is in control of his own thoughts, and therefore the ruler of reality.

About six months ago I decided to do my own tarot deck, a monumental task I must say and if I get it done in this lifetime I will be happy. Below is my first attempt The Death Card and the Magician is my second, so you can I see I am a long way from completely my journey, but then the journey is the fun part.

Incredibly creative and well made Larry ! I got lost in the details of the robotic bit, then saw the type-writer and the Typist – a great touch.

  • many thanks James, I do like the details and sometime am afraid I go too far.

    Dear Larrry,
This is the most actual, profound and whimsical depicting of the Magician that I have ever contemplated.
I love it…all of it. Inmmersed in the real essence of an eternal and starry dust universes….who are acting as the source of the energy that is animating his soul.
I find it that the fact of representing a “theatre stage”, where to women assistants truly dissipated and even drunk frommtheir own unconsciousness is opening the curtain of the performance. This Magician is a hindu like demi-god with his arms as representation of the so many topics that is having (never better said) in “his hands”. The center of his being is coupling with the modern life that is giving away the usual superstitions to the magic of the “machine”..a new intelligence…used by men…almost unbeatable…almost letting us turn into devotees of the programmed factual way of living. And the technical and artistic expression is clear for that issue. But..but…may someone be right with me…have you ever felt that this center of his magical energy…his own body of action has behind it…or just has by its presence the unmistakable presence of a simian kind? Just take an undettached look..and you will perceive it. Good Lord!!! I love this tenous expression….hardly hidden by such a device of technical tools…I am glad that at last, you have not surrender to the magic or the out of reality world….you feel that whatever we will achieve…or wish to get out of this so mortal body….so organic mind…we will be such…..animals, with our primitive brain fighting against it, alured by a world of infinite proposals, as you so wonderfuly have said. We have all the resources…yes, but we need a real fine mind and heart to use them…then..we will fliy away with that wonderful world of cloud stars that you have made to appear like the craddle of all our dreams.
And what is the best…is those hands…writting blindldy over the canopy of history, all the laws of Nature that we have been inventing and administeering in case something would be wrong and the Magician ould blow up our so organic world to pieces. Or may be….the sagas of those religious Magus, that had to write all their own experiences down…in case someone not so proficienced would love to try their own and they would loose their practical power over the crowd.
Fantastic Larry…I feel ready to receive it into Tarot..and beleive me….I would love you to make the rest of the suit….please!!!!!!
    A hug for you!
    Rosa

I understand what you mean ! I was doing an acrylic / crayon sketch at College one time and then I kept working and wished I had stopped before those last few strokes / bits were added. It’s not digital so it’s really irreversible in that case. To a certain degree you can reverse anything in Digital if you set the software to 100 Undo’s in the Preferences.
