THE CROSSROADS

THE CROSSROADS

I went down to the crossroads,
Fell down on my knees.
Down to the crossroads,
Fell down on my knees.
Asked the Lord above for mercy,
“Take me, if you please.”

Excerpt from Robert Johnson”s Crossroad Blues

Started with a basic photo of a road and added the storm with a photo of a cloud I took and build on that photo with brushes and blurs and film grain, added photos of a hat, cats, chickens and a house and blended these with the backgrounds, detailed with brushes and layer effects.

    You travel without constrain….
your love for cars is mystic, and the cars convey the speed and magic of your own imagination. The hat is the symbol of the spiritual quality of the brain, in this case the winged quality of the braking of conceptual barriers, just to let the fuel of the intelect represent like a bolting energy as if you were a “rocket”....gathering souls along the trip.
Winds of fatherly embrace, you know that a man does not do anything by himself… we need the “Breath of Life” for becoming….a body-soul.
And then the crossroad….it is there, but not physicall, you cannot show it Many of your works depict a long and solitary road, with an horizon… this one has not any.. may be your feelings your inside is blurred enough while you are sending your animal warriors to fight for your own freedom. And it is there, so when you get ride of your animal side, in order to defend your tender soul, then give way to the lightness of mind thoughts… and get away…
The idea of placing the cock mounting the great dogs is a puzzle. They are birds, and yet, rremember much more the “kings”, with their crowns up their.
may they be the knights of your soul, that are riding the animality that will help you to disentangled yousrelf from the terrible storm.
Rosa (I had not seen… this one.. now I feel so glad!!)
