The Last Tree Standing
I found the face for this from a statue, I took a photo of it in a museum that allowed photos. The tree is a number of photos blended together, the lightning was drawn into the background and blurred. The background is a separate photo with a film grain filter and the tree has a vivid light filter.

excellent work and concept.
though a bit on the eerie side, i think my amazement would overide the eerieness if i were to actually come across this tree.

Larry Butterworth replied
Yo Carlos, Really appreciate your good words, I have a soft spot for eerie sometimes, but not all the time.

The lighting creates Life from the heaven..
the roots creates life from earth..
and she is… the Mother.. lost in confussion..
where shall she stay?
When spring will come..
then…she will breed….
Rosa ( fantastic…thank you so much for your visit to “mi niña”....)
Larry Butterworth replied

This is great, reminds me a little of Petrie the guy who did roman soldiers carved into the rock faces of the Oregon Coast

mmmm… statues and plastercasts are great for making faces on other objects, aren’t they? There are times when I see a stylistic crossover – a certain methodical similarity – in our stuff, and this is definitely one o them. Really enjoying your recent work.
Larry Butterworth
Thank you so so much mistertrooth and do come back anytime.

Wonderful work Larry. It has an almost stoic Egyptian look to it. If you ever have the time, please do a tutorial on one of your works such as this one. I for one would be very interested in the process.
Larry Butterworth replied
thanks for your kind comment, I’ll see want I can pull together.

Coming back to it..
I see belenovelence..
and a promise of Life.
It is the last one…
but it is not dead..
and this spring… will sprout new leaves…out
of this nurtured seed of root..
I feel good well when I seel it..
even I feel so concerned about forests and trees.
