Last week (Feb 2011) I got lucky on my commute: I saw a wonderful sunrise before getting on the train to Central London, and at Charing Cross we were told that Waterloo Underground Station (my interchange) was closed, so I got out and walked across the Thames, and took a few pictures as the light was brilliant and the view… well, you’ll have to visit London and see for yourselves :)
This is a view of the suspension cables of the Hungerford (also known as Golden Jubilee) Bridge

Very interesting perspective and nice lighting. When you use the underground, you forget how walkable most of London is! :-)

  • Indeed, especially Central London, where the stations are so close to each other – and we’re so much in a hurry that we think we couldn’t possibly afford the extra minutes! Many thanks for the kind feedback, much appreciated!

Fabulous perspective, Themis. Enjoyed the description, too. Funny how the unexpected hitch brought you this chance to shoot this great image.

  • :-) indeed, sometimes we are forced to enjoy ourselves! Thank you very much for the visit and kind feedback, and for adding this to your favourites, much appreciated, as usual
