Gold and Blue
(AS IS, Fujifilm Finepix F31fd)
Walking on a beautiful Spring day in Poros (little island an hour away from Athens), I saw this and couldn’t resist its charm. I had it as desktop background and found it very uplifting through a rainy British Spring.
(Found out through Wikipedia that it’s called Acacia pycnantha Golden Wattle of the Acacia genus (and I also found out that there are SO many different types of them and I liked many for years without knowing their name Live and learn!)

Thank you very much – it’s one of my favourites, cheer-me-up photos. Probably because it also reminds me of what a beautiful Spring day that was, and I’m glad I managed to capture a bit of that.

A beautiful capture of this stunning flower.. you know this is an Australian native plant and is in fact Australias National Floral Emblem.. congrats on your feature.

Thank you for the compliment and congratulations, I’m glad you like the picture. I’ve no idea why a native Australian plant grows on the side of the roads on a small island in Greece, but it’s interesting! I must go there again and do some research :-)

In addition to the colours and the lighting, I like the positioning of the branches in the frame. A very nice picture, indeed!

Neither the angle of the camera nor the selection of the time of the day were dictated by mother nature. The photographer did something, after all…

That was the intention :-) Glad you like it and that you are better – all the best, and take it easy (work will always pile up, but health… not so much)
