After a particularly powerful Hakomi session, the idea for this mandala design came to mind. I saw it as a time-lapse movie of a bud opening up to full blossom.

This is the sixth coloring of this mandala design. When I finished painting this one, I realized that I used the chakra/rainbow colors. The subtle spiral effect happened when I repeated the three-colored theme four times ((yellow, yellow orange, and orange petals w/ red, green, and blue edging).

In 1999 on a trip to Egypt, I began drawing my first mandalas. Throughout the region, I saw amazing patterns on almost every site we visited. My analytical mind loved the geometry of the Islamic and Egyptian art. My heart & soul loved their beauty & symmetry. After I returned, I saw patterns in everything around me. I translate these into mandalas. In 2000 I added meditation to the process so that I could fully explore their metaphysical natures while guiding me on my own spiritual journey.
