Christmas Day and a lovely gift! An iridescent beetle (Tectocoris diophthalmus).
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a green tree frog with its mouth open, hope you like it as much as I did. Not a chance of success here though, in the next moment, the beetle was a safe distance away, and the frog’s mouth closed again.
Notice the tiny spider on the frog’s back.

Fabulous series of shots here. Shame he didn’t get to eat this time. Excellent capture.

I have serious doubts that little frog could have successfully consumed such a large beetle! Great shot.

Thanks, Helen. The next shot, showed the beetle got away, and the frog with mouth shut again looked so forlorn, I almost felt sorry for him.
