Away from home lately more than I'm here
My parents are both in their late 70s and each have several health issues to battle. The biggest hurdles for them recently are my father’s recovery from a broken hip and my mother’s upcoming surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her colon. My brother and I have been spending as much time as possible with them in the past few months, helping them through their challenges and trying to make their everyday lives a bit easier. So, if I appear to drop off the face of the earth for weeks at a time — as happened recently — don’t give up on me! I’ll be back when I can, and hopefully will have an Internet connection at my parents’ house soon!

Sometimes life calls, it is tough to keep up with everything. I have been in the roll of a care-giver, it is not easy, but necessary. Take care.
