Here is a Common Redpole looking nice and warm surrounded by frosty branches. They add a nice dash of color by the bird feeders during the long winter months. This picture was taken near Taber, Alberta, Canada.

I took the original image duplicated it 5 times with exposure adjustments of 0+1+2-1-2 and processed through Photomatix to produce a single HDR (High Dynamic Range) image. From there it was into Photoshop to find the details.

    This is a lovely capture Patrick and so perfect for Alberta. Can you please add a location for me though ie: Edmonton. Alberta or off Highway 16 West as it is a Group requirement. Thanks :>)) Leslie

    Hi Patrick, this is really beautiful! The detail of the feathers is marvellous against the blurred background and the position of the branch just makes it such a nicely composed shot.
