Competing for the World Cup by

Taken at a recent coverage of the wind surfing World Cup, held at Klitmøller in Denmark.
The gales were so strong that one of the surfers drifted 3 km’s out to sea and had to be rescued !
Waves were so high that the top of the surfers sails vanished in between the waves.Standing straight, photographing from the beach, was almost impossible as you were almost blown over !
Taken witha Nikon D700 and a 300mm lens with a 17mm tc (510mm)

  • I don’t know about Hawaii, but the cold is right !!! thanks Steen !!

    Hi Alan..
Great magnificent shot from Klitmølle Strand in Denmark.
And Steen are totaly right – Klitmølle Strand is called “COLD HAWAII”… because of the conditions and for the size of the waves….

  • I have never seen such a rough sea so close to the beach before !! thank you, Jens !!!

wow, perfect action capture Alan! yay for the D 700, mine has gone away for repair, had a meltdown malfunction and couldn’t alter settings nor focus which is kind of handy for taking pictures!!

  • the meltdown, is that because of the Aussie heat ? are you quite sure that it isn’t a Chinese copy D700 !!!!!
    thanks, Jenny !!!
