This 7 months old roe deer buck is looking around the garden for his mother and sister before returning to the forest. Being large for his age, only time will tell if he will exceed his father (the king) in body and antler size!
The snow doesn’t really affect them because they adjust themeselves accordingly.Even so, I do help them along the way so I am sure that they survive the winter!!
I have followed their development since they were born , and this forthcoming spring he will be driven off by his mother so that the new generation of fawns can be looked after.
The sister will stay in the vicinity and in time will take her mothers position in the woods.
Taken in the garden at my home at Nimtofte in Denmark
