Great shot Nikki, but it is not the Scott Monument (that is on Princes Street. The large clock tower in the middle of the shot is called The Hub. It is the tallest tower in Edinburgh.

oh wow, i never realized that! is the Scott memorial the second-tallest one, kind of behind the clock tower? thanks so much for mentioning! i was only in Edinburgh for one day… :)

Hi Nikki, an easy mistake to make. The Scott Monument is this one. It is on Princes Street. It is a very distinctive monument, not particularly tall and not really a tower.
You need to come back and see edinburgh properly. Have a look at my Edinburgh shots.
The tower behind the Hub is the belfry on St Giles Catherdral.
