The Oval Staircase
Located in the U.S. Supreme Court building, which was built in the early 1930s after the Court had met in many different places. This building was the first permanent place for them to meet since they had first convened. The oval staircase is an attraction in the building but unfortunately, tourists are not allowed to ascend it.

Normally the use of flash tends to ruin a lot of shots. Not here however….Here you have used it perfectly. Who knows how many floors there are….could be a million….probably not though.

you may not have intended it, but there is some irony that you’ve shot the U.S. Supreme Court as a bottomless pit (as I see it.) That aside, it is a wonderful visual image.

Wow that is wild! I had to help design one during my second internship; and it was an exit stair for a library in Vancouver (which is being built now). Now I look even more forward to seeing it’s completed result!
