Before giving a brief resume of me and my photography, I would just like to apologise for not being able to contribute properly to this wonderful web site of late due to continuing health problems which simply reduce the time I have available for my hobbies. So please excuse me for not commenting much these days, I wish it were different.

Hello! Since first picking up a camera (a Boots Beirette as I recall), I have been fascinated by photography and loved the whole idea of the latent image trapping a moment in time. For may years I enjoyed developing and printing my mono films – watching the image appear in front of your eyes is a magical experience.
I’m now almost entirely digital and likewise enjoy moulding an image to represent what I saw in my mind rather than with my eye (if that makes any sense!). As I’m not very good at this side of the work, I still find most enjoyment in the actual taking of the pictures, for they are “perfect” in my mind and invariably far less so when I look at them later on!
For the record I now mainly use a Nikon D300 and Nikon 16-85mm or Sigma 10-20mm lenses.

I live in Lancaster, UK with my wonderful and ever-patient wife and “photographer’s assistant” as she terms herself (though she is just as talented herself!), Shonah.

Century not out

I have just noticed that ‘Foula’ is my 100th photograph on RedBubble so it is time to thank one and all for looking at my work and for all their generous comments. Thanks also to the folk who have actually bought some photographs, I hope they have brought pleasure, just like I always get from taking them. / Before this sounds like an Oscar speech(!), I’d best add that it has bee…
