This is the neon rotosphere atop the El Comedor restaurant on old Route 66 in Moriarty, NM. A few years back, the rotosphere was restored using federal grant money in a project championed by the legendary JohnnyV.

Fantastic neon sign! Nice composition and night capture!!
WOW!!!! THIS is fabulous photography … ready for a high gloss magazine cover!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!
Love the color of the sky!!
Makes me think of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, or the Big Lebowski or something. Great shot!
I hadn’t thought of it that way, but it is a very quirky sort of neon, so it would lend itself well to film. Incidentally, a lot of movies and television shows are being shot in New Mexico these days, so who knows! Thanks for your comment, Graham!
hi Blind Hog, this is a great capture and for that reason it has been featured in the Neon Heaven Group
Best wishes, Sally :-)
Thank you, Sally!
I LOve your gallery
Great capture! I have just read that Route 66 is on World Monuments List, to save and restore surrounding area along he this historic road!
Thank you for the comment and the great news! This venerable old highway is in the national consciousness for the older generation, and the remnants are worth preserving.
Great capture, love your perspective here.
this would be at home in the diner group too ;-)
