This repurposed manure spreader never smelled so sweet. It sits in the side yard of the Ponderosa Winery in Ponderosa, New Mexico, on the edge of the Jemez Mountains, just off the Jemez Mountain Trail.
The owners are remarkably pleasant and the Jemez Red and New Mexico Riesling are two of the best wines I have ever tasted. If you are ever in the area, you must plan a visit, if not for the wine, then to admire their beautiful vineyards and whimsically decorated grounds.
