Foggy Morning Breakdown

I happened across this scene while in Fort Smith, Arkansas on business last year. I’d crossed this creek many times before and never thought to look twice at it. In daylight, it appears sluggish, almost brackish. But on this and the succeeding morning, the lowland was filled with fog and the warm morning sun infused the entire scene with a beautiful golden essence. The water feature is the Massard Creek on Highway 22 between Ft. Smith and Barling, Arkansas. Pentax K110D, 1/250 @ F8, ISO 200.

Thanks very much, Nancy. I was instantly struck by how beautiful this looked from the road. I was traveling with a friend and business partner who knows me well enough that he was braking to turn around before I even had the chance to ask. He waited patiently in the car while I set up and shot 20 – 30 images.
