I am very fortunate to live Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the heart of the very photogenic american southwest. The mountain states of the American West bear the scars of our planet’s history of volcanism and plate tectonics. Colorado has its mountains, Nevada its canyon, Utah its craggy rock formations and hoodoos, Arizona its painted desert. New Mexico has the Carlsbad Cavern and a geography so diverse that the topographical features of all the other mountain states are also here. In some instances the scale is lesser, but the beauty and wonder are no less grand. I try to capture tiny slices of that grandness through my passion for photography.

New Mexico Travelogue: Santuario de Chimayo

In 1810, a friar discovered a crucifix in a sand pit. He took it home with him. When he awoke the next day, the crucifix was gone, only to be rediscovered later that day in the same sand pit.
