Absolutely agree with dawndavies. What beautiful lighting. What a peacefuk scene (in crowded Nederland) The cover on the boat just adds a highlight.

actually this is a little oasis of piece surrounded by highways, railways, canals and the outskirts of the 4th biggest city in the country all less than a mile away :-)
but don’t be mistaken about how crowded the netherlands is. that’s jsut the “randstad”. in the north and the east there are plenty of places where you can still get completely lost in the fields and forests.

I’m repeating myself but, the very first time my parents and I visited the Netherlands again, (after migrating in 1956), it was December 1969 and my mother’s elder brother Ome Luyt Postma) drove us around, determined to prove to us that there was lots of space in the Netherlands too. As you can tell, I’ve not forgotten the point he was making.
(Yes. The relatives
and friendslive in the randstad, so that has been what I’ve mainly experienced, all four times back there.theBFG replied
and its gotten fuller and fuller out there in the west ;-) but then again, compared to the vast emptyness of inner australia, i guess that even the north-east of groningen looks like a virtual metropolis.
