    Fantastic shot of this moose! I have been dying to shoot one (with camera of course!) You captured him in a really great position, he seems to be giving you the evil eye! Were you afraid he would charge you?

    Thanks Joanne actually there were 4 of them. The big cow crossed the road, the bull stayed where you see him here and the two calf waited because I was there. When they attempted to cross and follow their mother I backed away letting them know I wasn’t a threat. No I wasn’t afraid. We have about 1 moose for every two people on this island and sometimes it’s amazing how relaxed they are around people. Every now and again one will walk through downtown or be found swimming in the harbour! Thanks for the comment!

    Great capture! Love the title too! Wish I had a chance to shoot a moose this close. We have them here but “the best” I’ve seen them was when a cow with her calf was jumping in front of my car – that was close! After the situation was luckily over my next thought was: where is my camera?
