Love the sparkling ice, Brian. No ND filter? I admire your composition and clarity.
Brian Carey replied
Thanks Jan, no ND filter here. I didn’t have them at the time. I’ll no doubt be using then a lot this winter. Actually I use them about half the time now, because I can increase the dynamic range of my camera. I even intend to use them at night, got some ideas in my head and if I get someting I like I’ll be sure to post them here!

Fantastic Capture!
Judy Grant
So Beautifully captured !!! I hope that was not recent !!:)
Brian Carey replied
Thanks Judy, I took this March ‘09!
Jan Timmons
Aw geez, I have too many lenses to switch cameras now, she whined. Dynamic range within the camera? Thanks for explaining, Brian. More than simply using manual exposure? Back to RTFM, I guess. And, it’s not the technology, it is the photographer. Hope you didn’t take my query for more info as a slight!
Brian Carey replied
Learning and evolving a photographer is one thing that makes it so much fun. Oh and that comment about increasing the dynamic range of my camera should apply to grad nd filters and not nd filters.
