Star Trail

Star Trail

This is a shot I took after shooting One Night Under the Milky Way I brought the ISO down from 3200 to 100 of course I had to compensate by opening up the shutter for a longer period!

That night, Monday July 20, 2009, I was out about 3 hours and I could see this bright object just above the horizon to my left and in what must have been about a 2 hour duration is had only traveled about 15 or 20 degrees in the sky. I’m not completely sure but I think it is the International Space Station and that night it had the Space Shuttle docked to it!

Camera Model Canon EOS 50D
Firmware Firmware Version 1.0.2
Shooting Date/Time 7/21/2009 12:29:44 AM
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1462
Av( Aperture Value ) 4.0
ISO Speed 100
Lens EF-S18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Focal Length 18.0mm

    Brilliant! What patience you have.

  • Brian Carey replied

I got to come clean here cause I didn’t sit around waiting patiently. I had just crawled into the tent and accidentally fired my flash a second time. I had my Cybersync transmitter in my hand. You can actually see me in this picture, or at lease my outline in the tent.

Remarkable shot, Brian. You could always check with NASA support. They might like this photo as much as I do.
