I am working on the project ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ organised by Arts Centre Melbourne (visit www.streetpianos.com.au). This is part of the worldwide project (visit www.streetpianos.com). I have been selected to paint one of their 25 pianos. The opening night is 9 Jan 2014 at 7-9pm where all 25 pianos will be displayed and played on main lawn of Arts Centre.
The Australian theme I have chosen for my piano is ‘Cockatoos sitting on the gum tree’. As a Chinese brush painting artist, I have to do all my painting on rice paper, which are then paste on all four sides of the piano. This is work in progress image of the piano as at 10 Dec 2013.

The Vietnamese Boat-people made the arduous journey across the sea in order to attain their freedom. Here, the filter of memory recalls the feeling of anticipation as they waited, mute with fear, for what was to come.
Through video, drawing and sculptural works, Thanh has delved into the psychological makeup of her own past, re-constituting the fragments to reveal the inside, looking out.
