Angel Of The North
“The Angel Of The North”, written by Poet Sally Omar especially for me to compliment this photograph.
I was in awe when I first saw him there
Inviting me to be in his care
Welcoming me with open wings
He made my heart sing
I had never seen him before
He is now someone I adore
THE ANGEL OF THE NORTH
I am sure the Creator was there
And gave the artist the idea
To build an Angel so we could see
What one day Heaven will be
When I see him standing tall
I have no fears at all
THE ANGEL OF THE NORTH
The Angel lets me know
That one day I will go
And be in the Heavenly Place
And see the Creator’s face
There the Angels with their wings
Will make my heart once again sing
THE ANGEL OF THE NORTH
I cannot express
My feeling of happiness
When I see him there
Wings outspread in the air
I really think you should go and see
The Angel that means so much to me
THE ANGEL OF THE NORTH

Great image. I’ve seen so many pics of the Angel but never from this point of view. And I love the sky.

yes, really good work David, i have never seen the Angel for real but i was and still am a huge supporter of this kind of work – really thoughtful sculpture representative of the locality, not just something stuck up by Coventry council on a roundabout because they don’t want to fall behind a trend… this is an excellent shot and treatment
David Parkin, about 1 month ago
Thank you Jaybe and Amy . . . I often pick out a certain part and zoom into it rather than photograph the whole thing . . . always trying something different, sometimes it looks canny, sometimes it looks crap. I was quite chuffed with this one.
David Parkin, about 1 month ago
Thanks for that Simon, it is words of encouragement such as yours that pushes me.
Thanks man.

This sculpture or work of art is huge , I hadn’t realised how big it is until I saw a picture with people stood next to it . This is a great shot ,from an unusual angle .

Mark and Irene, thank you.

Great capture, good imagery (I hate this thing, it always reminds me of an aeroplane that has landed on its tail)
