This is the Metrocentre Marriot Hotel.
For some strange reason they advertise it as the Newcastle Marriott, which it definitely is NOT in Newcastle.

Hiya Rosie, This hotel is just 3 miles from where I live, it’s part of the Metrocentre complex which includes Europe’s largest indoor Shopping Mall which has everything you could want including Pubs, Restaurants, a Cinema, you name it and it is there. It’s also just 2 miles away from Newcastle upon Tyne City Centre, and the Quayside. The historical City of Durham with it’s thousand year old magnificent Cathedral is only 15 minutes away and it’s only half an hour away from the coast. Yup, this Hotel would be a great place for an oversees visitor to stay.

Yeah, this one is outside of The MetroCentre Shopping Mall in Gateshead.
When it 1st opened 20 years ago it was called The Metro Hotel, Marriot bought it about 10 year ago.
