The Avenue by David Parkin

The Avenue

Yet another sad sight in Whitley Bay . . . . all those windows boarded up . . . I wonder what is to become of this old building.

I’d put a fiver on ‘luxury’ apartments. Tynemouth is full of them now and this building is perfect for them. What a sad day David! Hope you had a pint to liven things up afterwards….;-)

They will probably knock it down and built flats, then the council gets a lot ore Council tax. We have a street going down to the town called Princes Street, and they have literally knocked four Victorian houses out like teeth, and they are building flats. Can you imagine? I posted a picture of the Crane doing it today. This is a great capture David, and it will be interesting to see just what they will do with it.

Hiya mate, well, if they are to become Luxury Apartments then you can buy one and I’ll call in for tea and crumpets when I’m passing.

Me as well . . . BUT WHITLEY BAY!!!!!

What a shame such a wonderful old building like this is going to rack and ruin again. You would think people could do them up and live in them. Wonderful capture David and I just love your childhood photo, my you were a cute.
