The soon to be dismantled Sydney Monorail heading for Darling Harbour. Notice a few people walking in the shadow of the overhead monorail, this was taken on Sydney`s record hotest day of 45.8c.

Having visited many overseas countries and travelled extensively all over Australia since my early teens you can see by my portfolio that the Australian landscape is my favourite subject. I used to take slides because I liked the big picture but having been converted to digital I now shoot with a Nikon D5000, A Panasonic Lumix FZ18 (love that 500mm zoom) and a Samsung compact.

Great shot, Terry, and thanks for the reminder. I’m due in Sydney next month to see the doc, so I better take a ride on that thing before it no longer exists. Back in the late ’80s I took a series of pics of Darling Harbor when it was still a goods yard. And before that I used to drive of the Pyrmont Bridge every day to work at North Sydney.
Thanks Gary, would like to see those old photos. Hope all goes well with the Quack.

Oh you did find a good place to photograph the monorail from. I should have walked further than I did.
Lots of different angles to photograph it from Eve. Thanks for looking in.

46 in Sydney must’ve been awful!! Nice image, I did hear they were going to close that down. There never seemed to be that many people on it when I was there.
Thanks Cameron, it was a real scorcher and the air cond. wasn`t working too good on the monorail
