A different view of The Three Sisters at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains National Park, New South Wales Australia. This image is taken from the bottom platform of the scenic railway. At Scenic World you can take the Railway down to this point and then via a boardwalk do a circuit of the rainforest, return to the top via the Cableway and to finish off take a return trip on the Skyway.

Having visited many overseas countries and travelled extensively all over Australia since my early teens you can see by my portfolio that the Australian landscape is my favourite subject. I used to take slides because I liked the big picture but having been converted to digital I now shoot with a Nikon D5200, A Panasonic Lumix FZ18 (love that 500mm zoom) and a Samsung compact.

Nice shot Terry. I was at this same spot on friday (on holidays). We walked down the Furber stairs & back up again. Took lots of photos of Katoomba Falls on the way up & down.

  • Thanks Michael, that`s when I was there. It wasn`t you and your wife I gave a map to was it?

I was getting interested in taking a ride on the scenic railway until you mentioned the cableway, Terry. Eeek! Heights worry me.

  • It sure is a grand view from the cableway Gary.

My kids have been to the bottom. But not I. I’m chicken ;-)

  • It`s no big deal Hillie, it goes pretty slow.

That wasn’t me Terry. I didn’t need a map. I checked out the maps beforehand . Was tempted to catch a car back but decided on the more picturesque, photogenic & less populated route back up the Furber steps.
