Mungo Lunette
An eroded dune at Mungo National Park in western New South Wales. The eroded dunes in this area are referred to as lunettes. It was here among the dunes that archeoligists unearthed human remains, which were subsequently carbon dated more than 30,000 years. This find and others went to prove that aborigines occupied the land that long ago.

I’ve never visited Mungo, and it’s amazing to think we have fantastic looking scenes like this. Saw a documentary about the place and was blown away with the significance of the area. Hope to get there one day. Excellent use of the foreground as it leads the eyes around the scene. Enjoyable viewing, Terry.
Terry Everson replied
Thanks Darren, you would enjoy this place. Not so good for photography during the day but great at sundown. There are just so many unusual formations. I have been there three times.
