Well composed photo. He makes a good Christ. The crown here is an amazing piece of work in and of itself. Very realistic.

This was Joe’s last year to portray Jesus in the pageant and it was an emotional moment for him. The crown of thorns is amazing, carefully constructed to not actually harm the actor but very serious thorns. You have to know just how to hold it. It’s a hard shooting environment but sometimes the spotlight falls just right. I photograph the final dress rehearsal each year.
