Bound

The outside knows no pain
As the inside hurts much more
Nothing hurts outside, nothing to gain
With the blood outside, I feel no pain

Inside it flows, hurting, pleading
Outside, it feels free
It is begging, pleading to leave
To leave what hurts it so, just to go
To leave the heart that stops it’s flow

Who am I to stop it’s flee
To leave it be, I do more harm
To keep it trapped is murder
I cannot deny it any further

I let it free; let it leave
To leave what keeps it from being free
To leave the mind and the body
The pain, the past, and the reason I cried
To leave the pain I tried to hide

On the inside by hurt it is bound
On the outside it is free
I watch it spread, running from me
Running to anywhere but the place it leaves

I watch it leave and feel regret
Sorry that to myself, I had lied
That I kept it trapped inside
Sorry that my pain, I couldn’t hide!
