I KNOW WHAT’S NOT…

Free Will.
Everyone has it.
Everyone uses it.
Few take responsibility for it.

A well-known award winning scientist and Quantum Physicist once stated, “I now know what is not, but can not fathom what is… but I do now have a better idea of the possibilities.” As intelligent, sentient creatures, we are free in this life to explore alternative ideas and concepts outside of what is accepted to be the norm, but we seldom consciously pursue a different idea or an alternative approach to a widely agreed upon societal concept. Humans believe that humans are the only animals on this planet that possesses free will but most humans still find it difficult to use that free will to choose and follow a different path than the one their friends and family have all agreed to travel upon. Most HUMANS find it next to impossible to stray from the well-worn trail that most of our society has decided to trudge along together. “Follow the rules, that’s right, get back in line, stay together now and move along…”

RULES

It is easy to follow rules made up for you by someone else. You have been trained to do this all of your life; “Now be a good little girl and do what you are told.” In fact you are rewarded by your fellow HUMANS if you follow the rules that have been made for you. There is comfort in having rules. There is safety in numbers, safety in hiding behind doctrine, emulating the accepted cultural practices of your tribe. Isn’t this what you have always been doing in Plan A? Trying to please a grown-up or parent or teacher or boss or friend or preacher. You learn that you only win extra points by how well you follow the rules, not by questioning them.

SAFETY

There is also safety in numbers. It takes great personal courage or believing that you having nothing in this world left to lose to purposely leave the comfort of the group. There is safety in following the traditions of your crowd. By following the guidelines set up for you, you can be assured that if you fail, it will not be your fault. You did everything the way you were told, the same way as all of your friends and family for generations have been doing it. No, it wasn’t something that you did. No need to take responsibility for your actions. You weren’t thinking for yourself, just following orders. Everyone around you will comfort and forgive you. Of course, your friends and family will understand; they are following the same rules. You must have experienced some ‘bad luck.’

If you experienced some bad luck, everyone in your group will assure you that everything will be okay again soon. Just get right back in line and keep doing what you were doing before. It’s working for everyone else. Look how much smarter you are now. That turn of luck won’t happen again. For a moment you scared them. You scared yourself. You slipped and they were in fear that the agreed upon rules of Plan A may not be safe, accurate, and true.

FEAR

You are taught to never purposely stray from the tribal path, because if you do, you will not find any help or comfort from your existing friends and family. This purposeful departure from the agreed upon rules really scares the other HUMANS around you. They don’t want to imagine that you might be making the right decision, that you may have realized something that they haven’t, or that you now understand some truth that they have missed. They don’t want to believe that something could be wrong with the groups concept of reality. Once again, you have created fear within your group and your community because deep down in each of their Souls they know that their HUMAN vision of this world is wrong. It is wrong because it is not their vision; it is a vision that was given to them, that they have agreed to see. The fear is that the communal vision may be wrong and that your new vision could be right. What if you have chosen the correct path and they are unable to find the courage to make the change themselves?

When you choose to question and choose to look deeper into the truth of life and the real meaning to your existence, you will be labeled, at best, a person who is confused, a troubled person. As long as you do not stray too far off the given path and come to your senses quickly you will be welcomed back into the fold. Everyone around you will breathe a sigh of relief and feel safe and secure again because you have returned. When you stay away too long and stray too far on your new path, you may be placed in the new category of a kook, a weirdo, or even crazy. Pretty soon, in some people’s minds you will have ‘lost it.’ You will no longer be welcome in the group, no longer be part of the tribe. You have in truth created FEAR among your old friends. The FEAR is strong because their Souls are telling them that you are right.

The FEAR is amplified in everyone if you are, or were, an upstanding member of your tribe. If you were well-liked, successful, and a leader of your group it will only makes matters worse. How could a person like YOU have chosen to take a new path, a different path from everyone else? There must be some good reasons for this unusual change in you. What dark secrets have you been hiding all of these years? What new person or group of people has entered your life, brain-washing you and poisoning your mind? How could a person like YOU, one of THEM, one of the best of THEM, ever choose to stray from the agreed upon tribal path? When some of your friends and associates find out that this change was your own choosing, that it was your Free Will, it will be too hard for most everyone from what is now your past, to comprehend. It will be difficult for most anyone to entertain the concept of you choosing something different from them. To accept this concept would be to acknowledge to themselves that there are alternatives to life, to their existing life. You were smart at one time…what if?
Again, what a fearful concept for THEM to consider.

FREE WILL

Visit any bookstore that carries a good selection of spiritual and metaphysical books. At random, pick up a book written by an author who explains how they discovered their psychic, intuitive, or healing powers. The first chapter of almost every one of these books explaining the great personal discoveries and the new path that these authors took will start with phrases like: “After I almost died…” or “After a great personal tragedy…” Why is it that in most cases of great HUMAN enlightenment there seems to be a need for the person to experience a great personal misfortune before they have the ability to ‘see the light?’

Decide today that you no longer need a major personal crisis to occur before you consider questioning Plan A. From this moment on, you will be aware of Spirit’s voice and recognize Spirit’s tap on your shoulder or polite shove on the back, helping you to make the correct decisions before Spirit feels the need to wake you up with a smack in the forehead with a cosmic two-by-four. You no longer need the power of a life endangering personal catastrophe to wake you from your HUMAN slumber.

CHOOSE

Your gift of Free Will is the answer. With everything in life, there is always a choice. Do you choose to live a life of fear, lack, unhappiness, and despair? Or do you choose to create a life full of courage, abundance, joy, and hopefulness?

Do you choose to continue living your life as a unempowered HUMAN being following Plan A, blaming everyone for your failures and making constant excuses to yourself for the reasons that your life is a mess and your dreams are unfulfilled? Or do you choose to take personal responsibility to follow Plan BE and live life as an empowered human BEING? Start the process today to be consciously creating a clean, clear view of all the empowering possibilities on your path ahead by throwing away the blame and judgment that you have let clutter your Mind and cloud your vision.
