The gold ringed Mangrove snake (Boiga dendrophila) is a colubrid nocturnal species with rear-fangs. The snake grows to an average size of 1.8-2.4 m (6-8 Feet) in length. The Boiga dendrophila is a nervous snake which will strike repetititvely and therefore, should be treated with respect simply because of the snakes nervous nature and the mild venom it produces which can result in serious swelling after multiple bites but is not usually fatal.
