A trip to Piggott Bay on Mayne Island can provide the most surprising views. Today (May 12, 2010) it was a fully crewed old ship under full sail in Navy Channel.

Technically I believe she may be called a “schooner” rather than a ship but whatever the appropriate name… she is majestic and inspires a time warp experience as she glides into view.

This image was published on page 12 in the May 27, 2010 issue of the Island Tides regional newspaper.

Love the light on the water and the cool pastel sky and wispy waves gives it an airy feel. the boat somehow sets a pace to it. Very fresh, very nice.

  • thank you Valerie for your thoughtful comment… most appreciated.
