Bodie is a ghost town in Northern California. Bodie is slowly withering away, bleached by sun and snow. One can still peek through the windows into some of the old shops, the saloon, the pool hall, the school, etc. One can actually still walk through a few of the buildings but time is taking a toll on Bodie, and will continue to do so. This image was taken through a window of a very old mirror which was reflecting part of the mercantile and part of the street through yet another window. I wanted to see Bodie when it was vibrant and alive; a bit dusty, yes, but colorful and I wanted to hear men and women talking softly and children laughing and playing in the street. This is what I wanted to see instead of the rusting and rotting shell it is now. By the way, in spite of what I have just said, Bodie is a fantastic place to visit!! I could wander the town for hours!!
