Stearns Creek Covered Bridge is only a few miles from my home, and today was the first time I’ve seen it! You will not find the bridge on any historical registry, because it was constructed in 2006 and looks more like an old covered bridge than most of the really old bridges I’ve found in my travels. Yes, the cedar still has some of the original stain, but it is weathering beautifully. The fellow that built the bridge purchased his property and spent the first eight years restoring the vintage 1927 farm house true to the period, complete with an old wood cook stove, the old fridge with the round thing on top (I have no idea what’s in that round thing), and beautiful old chandeliers! He has no television, computer or any other electronic device in the house, and loves it that way!! He is an older gentleman, and must have a never ending supply of energy to keep up with his farm the way he does. It was really quite lovely!!
