The Blue Morpho, native to the rain forests of Central and South America, is lovely when flitting around with its beautiful blue wings exposed. However, as soon as it settles somewhere, it closes its wings and blends in extremely well with its surroundings. I felt very fortunate that this lovely fellow left his wings open just a bit, so you can see the beautiful blue of the top side of his wings. The Morph has a wing span of approximately 5 inches, so is quite a large butterfly.
