For as long as I can remember I have thought Mt Rainier was the most beautiful mountain in the world, obviously not the highest but definitely the most beautiful!! Perhaps that is because it is one of only two mountains I ever really spent time on as a kid. When my daughter was tiny I used to tell her Mt Rainier was mommy’s mountain. It appears that stuck with her. When she started school she would argue with teacher and students about the ownership of my beautiful mountain, and to this day she still refers to it as mom’s mountain!
And yes, Rainier is a volcano, supposedly dormant, but apparently there is some question as to how much longer that dormancy will last!
