Carlos, if I’d not met Tereza, I would never have found you….I got my first glimpses of Portugal through the two of you. It has been an amazing journey with you both…

I think your work, like hers, like mine, is raised to a higher level because iron sharpens iron. Sometimes, to get new inspiration, we need to take breaks. I did that several years ago. I’d been shooting for over 40 years. At some point, you feel burned out. I put the camera down for three years…gave away everything I had except the really old cameras. I didn’t start shooting again until last year, when I went to England and saw Winchester Cathedral, and that sculpture in the basement. I woke up from a long sleep, with whole new vision.

Maybe your soul needs rest, brother….Forget you…I don’t think so…friendships aren’t built on pictures…they are built on people. God bless you….
