somebody slap me..they remind me of the canons on WW2 tanks..damn that war affected me..it shouldn’t have, I wasn’t even born then..heck my father was just in nappies..but it affected me.

they used to have tanks and bits of artillery shells and what not laying around all over the place even in my time..i remember climbing onto an old abandoned tank and armoured vehicle…even going to the forest for a trek could end up with you finding an old bomb or granade..my dad always used to say to us be careful where you step and never touch anything.

then there was the story he told us about coming across a shoe and looking inside it to find a gruesome discovery…that shoe was inside an old grenade hole..of course nothing but bone left but fairly well preserved…sorry to be so gruesome..but that war should have never happened…it was a horrible thing and it should never have happened.

  • So true, the war was a terrible thing that should never have happened. We can hope that things will be better in this century….

well these days it has disguised itself as something called terrorism

  • Again, too true. Whether sanctioned by the state (war) or not sanctioned (terrorism), it is still violence inflicted by the few upon the many.
