The Vermilion Lakes are a series of lakes located immediately west of Banff, Alberta, Canada.

The three lakes are formed in the Bow River valley, in the Banff National Park, at the foot of Mount Norquay. They are located between the Trans-Canada Highway and the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks. A hot spring is found at the third lake.
Image is a little bit hazy due to forest fires in BC.

Great shot! I love when the waters of Vermilion are sleeping like this. Gives great reflections as you have captured perfectly.
It was great meeting you and your husband and I hope to be able to go out shoot some more photos with you in the future :)

  • Same here. Too abd you couldn’t stay longer and enjoy the beautiful evening with us but looking for a house is exciting too so I understand why you had to go early. Thank you for your lovely comment Pam. We love the area and I’m a freak for reflections. I could sit there for hours just staring at the view in front of me.
