On July 13, 2010 we were driving through Icefield Parkway in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada and the fog was getting thicker and thicker as you can see in this photo. Few minutes later it changed to snow storm with 20cm of snow falling within about 4 hours. I’ve never seen anything like it in my entire life. Real winter in the middle of summer. Awesome!!!

you took this while I was waiting for you on the other end, lol. This hill is scary in good weather never mind fog like that!!! Wonderful capture of that day.
Please complete the location for the groups hon.

  • Yes, you were waiting on the other side. This is the fog and I will post the snow later on. Completed the info too. Sorry hon.

I think you may have your head in the clouds on this one Teresa. Nice photo – and yes John snow in July. I went spring skiing June 1 1967 got hit by a blizzard and almost missed my High School graduation.

  • Thank you Scott. It’s quite bizzare when it happens. You just don’t expect this much snow in a summer. 20cm of snow in July is really weird.

Such a lovely capture of this area!! Fog, snow storm and then never know. I would not want to be down there on that road.

  • Thank you Ciana. The weather was unbelievable. We missed everything we wanted to see on the way to Jasper and then didn’t have enough time on the way back. Maybe next time.

Great shot Teresa, we were thinking of you when we heard about the storm.

  • Thank you very much George. It was really an amazing sight. First the fog and then so much snow. Thanks for thinking about me.

Welcome to Alberta. Around here they say “If you don’t like the weather just wait 15 minutes!”

  • I would be happy with 15 minutes delay but I missed whole day in my very tight schedule because of the weather. Something to do on my next visit, lol!!!
