Willow Flats are located in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA.

Willow Flats are freshwater marshes stretching between Jackson Lake Dam and Colter Bay. Early in the morning and in the evening, Willow Flats become the preferred feeding area for elk and moose. Streams that flow throughout the flats are home to beavers, muskrats and waterfowl.
In the evening, the Tetons form the perfect backdrop for a beautiful mountain sunset.
Mornings are the best time to enjoy a peaceful view of Jackson Lake and Mt. Moran from Jackson Lake Lodge (this photo).

Very beautiful shot! I am going there next spring. We have decided to go in May 2010 to Grand Tetons, yellowstone, and up to Canada, and then down to the Dakota’s on our way to Minnesota.

  • Lucky you. I still didn’t decide when but we would like to go either in June or September. Super trip Charlene.

Lovely image and write-up. I love seeing places through the eyes of others and the history abut the places adds that caring special touch.

This is so beautiful, and so appropriately named. I’ve been to WY and Yellowstone so many times, and yet I still feel myself drawn back. Your photo helps remind me I need to plan another trip there! Congrats on your feature.

  • Thank you so much Suz. I have it on my wish list forever and never scratched it but of course there are other trips and places I’ve never been too so for now it just stays there but I hope to go there again soon. Just like you said there are places in this world that you just want to visit over and over again.
