This red breasted merganser was photographed fishing at J.N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island Florida USA with a Nikon D3s and a Nikon 600 mm lens. I was photographing a heron on my right when I noticed the duck taking off and was lucky enough to swing my gear in time to make a few images.

What a great shot, Daniel! I love the trail of water droplets, the blue of the water, and of course the great colors and details in the duck from beak to tail! Well captured!
