Weird...
Was just browsing through my sales.. and noticed that one of my most popular T’s sold is probably one of the ones i am not a huge fan of and thought would maybe get a couple of views at most.
Ive sold 8 of these..
Anyone else have stuff that has been popular and even sold, which they thought would not even get looked at let alone sell…when you made it?
Comments
my favourite designs rarely sell…not that i sell much at all.
Yeah… Each to their own i guess..
I’m not complaining btw! I’m quite happy for people to buy it :P
Just mentioning that i find it weird that its the one that i thought wouldn’t get any interest.

i laugh at the most popular galleries…when i don`t cry.
Heh – yeah sometimes i dont think it’s the quality of your art – its how many people you know and comment on as to how popular your gallery is.
I just like playing round in PS…really don’t expect to actually sell anything, so when i do its a bonus :)

you are a true artist darling.
Congrats!!!
Thanks Lisa :)
Not looking for congratulations though – was just wondering if other people had these same thoughts about work that they didn’t quite like, yet they turned out to be one of their most popular.

Sorry….I don’t sell anything. But it must be nice when something you don’t expect to sell, sells!!
lol – yeah it is.
Thanks Lisa. :)

I don’t sell all that much, but as far as faves go it seems to be like that..
cngrats on the tee sales!personally,I’m really digging your sheep shirt. It just makes me giggle.:-)
Yeah…it’s odd.. Maybe i just have bad taste :)
Glad the sheep give you a giggle though.
Thanks G!

dude – my favourites are not the ones that sell either. Its just one of those things. As a designer, how do you predict the success of a shirt? I think James Lillis is probably the most successful person on RB of late. He is very good at honning (is that how you spell it) in on ‘popular culture’.
Yup – Must be one of those things.
I agree James is good at knowing what will be a success and what works at the right times….plus he’s extremely talented – that helps!
Don’t think you can ever really target your Tee’s for sales to anyone though… As i every now and then have a browse through the sales section… It’s such a mixed selection of work that sells.
Which is a good thing…be a mighty boring place if everyone had the same taste and style.

totally valid comments Teeze. So far I have been working on the themes like music, childhood and surrealism. These themes seem to work for me ok, but I know i am capable of doing a lot more. Interesting thing about art is that evolves, so Im sure we will get ‘better’ at this as time goes on.
many times not on sales but on views, hehe dawnx
Heh Dawn – makes you wonder about your own taste sometimes doesn’t it..
I sold another of these yesterday too lol… I just don’t get it.
