When the waves of history smashAt the rocks of economics… They leave behind a rubble. of… My hurt.

melancholy hurt silence failure
Great shot Ted & I know what you feel.. things are a changing… leaving things behind..the dream is over… only the moment is left to enjoy.. with the candle burning at both ends.
It’s a moment for seriousness, regret, but not panic Carmen. It’s one thing to come off the field limping.. BUT alive and ready to rethink as opposed to flee. Black and blue is not immobilized. I’m very pleased my feelings resonate with you Carmen.
Love the image Ted and especially your words which have extra significance for me !!!!
Stark moments focus our w attention Ian. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, right? Thanks Ian.
Sometimes things change for the better !! but when ?? Make you think !! Great capture Ted ..
It is the function of recessions to squeeze out inefficiencies and to reveal necessities Ray. Hard choices are always the best, don’t you think? I’m glad that my feelings have resonated with you.
Powerfully emotive image Ted.
Discomfort hardens muscles… and causes us to focus our life lens Jolante. Thanks for allowing my feelings to resonate with yours.
How sad – and a sign of the times. So many unfulfilled dreams and pretty soon people won’t have the imagination to look forward and make dreams
What a powerful thought Shulie. You have me thinking that tough moments cause the best to focus their imagination, crank it up so that they can understand the necessity of choosing among dreams. Hard times mean prioritizing, huh? Thanks Shulie, art is about feeling, you are nice to feel at me.
this speaks so much to what is happening for so many these days, leave it to you, Ted, to frame it all up so well…and and like all hard times make us reevaluate, and possibly evaluate how we value…and a chance to remember, what matters most isn’t what is left in the rubble, it’s what we take with us, within…love how you inspire and make me think, xxx
Sidewalks have ended in dangerous steps, downward Linda. 2008 exploded and left a bunch of rubble, eh? I’m so flattered that this image resonated with you and triggered such a thoughtful response.
love this composition – something ends and makes way for the new – that transition period is always a struggle
Economists have such an impersonal word for folks squeezed into the “transitions” you mention… we call them, “dislocations” or the “dislocated”. It’s like the military term, “collateral damage”. There’s so little blood or tears funning onto the ground that can be seen behind the jargon, eh? Thanks John… so many dreams recently have ended in rubble.
Sad looking image made even worth by your words,we humans seem to forget that nature rules and can wipe us out at any time……..
It was some years ago that one of my businesses did not make it. Others have done well (phew)… but the site remains me of a cemetery none the less. It remains poignant… The wipe out was not nature, rather a business plan that went POOF! Sigh. Merry and Happy Hans.
Quick and too the point, I feel it…bravo Ted.
Thank you Randy… Somehow the site seems still sad, eh? OTH I took this a few years back and that was years after the business which sat here no longer sat there. Life goes on…
