linifer
Brilliant Ted!!!!
Ted Byrne replied
Thanks Linifer… it’s especially nice to get a supportive compliment from another romantic artist, and especially such a talented one :)
Lois Bryan
Ahhhh Ted!!!!! another magnificent image from creative you!!!!! Fabulous image … what stories it conjures up in our minds!!!!! And how I love the writing you’ve included with it!!! A man of MANY talents, to be sure!!!!
Lois Bryan
btw … went over and looked at your “components” ... had to laugh at your “tripod phobia” ... meeeee tooooo!!!! Worked on overcoming my fears of the thing this weekend, and now I have an aching back, lol!!!!! Anyhow, once again, love the image to pieces!!!!!
Ted Byrne replied
Both of your comments are reeeeely nice Lois. Nice of you to enjoy watching a man play with his toys. If I took that truck down onto the rug, people would think I’d regressed into childhood… but a serious piece of creative art… heh heh heh… Why it’s almost as much fun as taking it down on the rug, huh? Thanks Lois, and yeah… I cannot bring myself to carry a tripod. After all, why go out and buy minature cameras and lenses that allow the most candid spontaneous photography, and then screw it all onto a thirty ton tripod? Seems weeeeerd!
Heather Rivet...
Wow what can i say ted amazing
Ted Byrne replied
Oh you could say, “the greatest image in history.” Or “Red Bubble has never enjoyed such an insightful exploration of the historic mood.” Or.. or… well you could tell the truth and “amazing” is very very very nice from someone with your mastery of the toolkit Heather… Thanks… :)
Alf Caruana
great work Ted, beautifully combined and created.
Ted Byrne replied
Thanks Alf. Of course if I could have used one of your drop-dead models in her corset and nosebleed heels, well I might not have used my model here :-) Notice that word “might” . But… since this is what I had in my office… There is only one obvious conclusion…. Life is not fair!
DragonFlyer
I love it Ted! Just beautiful atmosphere and mood :)))
Ted Byrne replied
Well, as a photographer who can find both atmosphere and mood in the microscopic world, I’m flattered that you feel I’ve found it in a much easier setting. Thanks.
Hans Kawitzki
Fabolous work it has such a beautiful old time feeling to it
Ted Byrne replied
See up there on the right wall Hans? Now go look at the left wall on your own “Up Hill”. We both seem to accessorize our historical settings similarly, eh? Thanks Hans.
GerryMac
this is just fantastic Ted! perfect composition and wonderful feel to the overall artwork!
Ted Byrne replied
Thanks Gerry, you are super supportive. Glad you liked it.
Azzurra
i love it ♥♥ AWESOME ♥♥
Ted Byrne replied
“Awesome” is a very satisfying compliment. Yes.. yes… I can get off on AWESOME… especially in all caps… and very especially from a terrific artist. Thanks Azzurra.
Azzurra
THANKYOU for the wonderful compliment…...APPRECIATE IT! ♪♪♫♫♪ XD
Ted Byrne replied
Luv-your-stuff!
Julia Thomas
love the piece and the words hmmm it has me thinking part of me thinks I would push it down hard but you know being a typical piscean I am so so so indecisive!!
Ted Byrne replied
Ahhh… Julia, I am flattered that my work catches your attention. Yor wonderful work with textures is such a favorite of mine.
Mary Ann Reilly
fabulous work, Ted. I checked out the original two images. Quite a transition:)
Ted Byrne replied
Miniatures are such a spark Mary Ann, especially when they are antiques. Playing with them is like adding characters to a narrative. Thanks for the nice thoughts.
Jeff Clark
This is fantastic and I love that the car is a miniature. Splendid work!
Ted Byrne replied
What an excuse for grown men to play with our toys, huh Jeff? I love these little antique cars. And I think it’s because I imagine them… like I did as a boy… doing real stuff… in real places… engaged… important… And where better to be engaged but back in their day… in a magical place: Florence. Thanks Jeff for getting it.
raymondo
Great work Ted…........brill portfolio.
Ted Byrne replied
It’s so good to hear from a simpatico artist. Your work cuts the envelope wide Ray. Your support is encouraging. Thanks.
PNFdeb

Ted Byrne replied
Thanks mucho Debra
Paulette x
Excellent skill, I’m impressed! :)
Ted Byrne replied
Well, if I’ve impressed YOU… I am impressed with me too!:-)
Reeeely, thanks Paulette.
HelmD
TED!!!! I just moved from Italy! I have been down this very street that you captured! It is an amazing blend of creative imagination and nostalgia! I am instantly adding you to the watchlist and making this a fav! Keep up this AMAZING talent!
Ted Byrne replied
It’s said that the streets of old Florence are magical. So I have just taken what they say a tad farther :-) Thanks Helm, and speaking of magic, I’ve just returned from your portfolio…. your work fits the word well.
Elizabeth Bravo
Ted this is so wonderful. First the original shot and now what you have magically turned it into. Your links to the elements is so fun to see. Still a difficult task to find the RIGHT components. Anyone looking at this for the first time would assume it was a painting. You are brilliant with your ideas and techniques. Great job.
Ted Byrne replied
By golly you are so supportive Elizabeth… reeeeely appreciate it. And I’m glad you enjoy the link I’ve placed up there to the components. It’s a wonderful time for photographers to engage in fantasy as never before, huh? Thanks…

Ted Byrne replied
ZOWIE! This is an astonishing group of featured artists to be included among. Thanks a WHOLE BUNDLE. What a wunnerful compliment!

Great ARt, congrats with the feature :-)

From a master, these kind of compliments are reeeeely supportive. Thanks.
SandraRos
CONGRATULATIONS THIS IS AWESOME !!!! I am so happy for you but I must tell you I really think you deserve it a 100%
Ted Byrne replied
You are too kind Sandra… but… but… it’s very nice to read :-) Thanks!
Mary Campbell
Wonderful, awesome, well done! As for the question, I would push it as hard as I could. I’ve been dreaming of time travel since I was a kid and read Daphne du Maurier book where the heroin jumps into a pool and come up in another time zone.. Someday we’ll get there.
Ted Byrne replied
Ah, but if someday we’ll get there, then they who get there, are probably here… which is then to them and… it makes my head hurt :-) Hmmm… but if they are here, then that explains the magical art that some of our contributers make here at RB, eh? Thanks Mary.
Angela Harburn
Stunning artwork! Congrats on the feature – very well deserved! x
Ted Byrne replied
Thanks Angela, from an artist who’s done intriguing stuff with antique cars in magical light… I feel very supported.
Mary Campbell
Interesting thought, yes perhaps they are amongst us now.. I’ll have to think more about that.
Sharon Mau
I would push the button and move, if only for a day…...... hopefully for a lifetime to silently wander among the trees in the ancient long-quiescent deep forests and breathe deeply the sweet essence of rainsoaked earth. I would love to hear the roar of the spectacular waterfalls and feel the spray as it saturates my skin, to see the many perennial rivers and fresh water streams before the water diversions, and celebrate in dance the blessed rain with eyes closed and arms outstretched. I would love to explore the windward rainforests and delight in listening to enchanting birdsong of exotic bird species found no where else in the world before they became extinct. I would marvel at the leeward dry forests and specialized creatures who once thrived there. I would stand at the precipice of magnificent seacliffs and wave to the magnificent Humpbacks and Dolphins and laugh at the playful antics of the Honu as they roll in the incoming waves. I would gaze in wonder at peaceful sunrises and sing in thanks and gratitude for sensational sunsets and I would play in the warm luxurious sands of multicolours and textures at water’s edge like an innocent child. I would love to explore this beautiful island precontact and see it in all it’s splendid pristine unaltered magnificence when it was still isolated from urbanization by a vast ocean sparkling in the moonlight like a jewel in the deep blue sea beneath a star filled sky. This is the island I see in my mind’s eye, stunning in it’s purest beauty. It is what I long for and it is a spiritual challenge for a sensitive girl who resonates with nature and ocean song trying to cope in a modern world.
This is a very beautiful work of photographic art Ted. I had a look at your website and it is wonderful! I do enjoy your creative vision. I think I’ll go outside now…..
Ted Byrne replied
Ah… the creator of
likes my image! Yippee. Thanks Sharon, love your musings, glad I could help trigger them.
Shanina Conway
I’d push the button, double click and right click too just in case I could go further back or forward too;)
I saw this on your blog and my jaw dropped…brilliant..a million stories within this superb image!
Ted Byrne replied
From one story teller to another… thanks Shanina.
Kimberley Davitt
This is so beautiful well done
:~)
.
Ted Byrne replied
Youre very generous, thanks Kim.
Juilee Pryor
Ted this is awesome….such a richly developed theme too….love the idea of crusing back in time and space in a beautiful old car like this…... fabulous
Ted Byrne replied
Ahhh…. where old meets not so old… and nostalgia mixes with fantasy-history… Works for me and glad it works for you Juilee.
LumenLux
Very nice composition and interesting message. Perfected in presentation. Now – is it possible that our rather linear reckoning of time is the essence of the condition? Maybe time is much like art – even a many splendred thing?
LumenLux
“splendored” is what I intended. Looks like no way to edit comments?
Ted Byrne replied
Both of these posts thread together nicely LL. And your thoughts re. linear reckoning reeeeeely resonate with me. Odd how critics of “historical fiction” nag about the lack of accuracy and mixtures of periods… Me… I notice the ‘fiction’ part of that genre.
Joanne Bradley
Amazing image! Brilliant work! Love your commentary! The fascination with time travel continues to captivate humankind! I would push that button for the experience but not the move…
Checked out your components and how you achieved this effect, very informative….
Ted Byrne replied
Thank you Joanne… And yeah, dipping into a time tunnel would be fascinating, huh? It causes my imagination to dance.
SandraRos
Ted Byrne replied
Thanks Sandra I’ve bragged about that here. . You are very generous.
RavenSoul
