While it may look like someone knocked a pile of charcoal onto the top of a margherita it is in fact a generous serving of mushrooms. Fresh from a forest floor, seeping with watery mushroom goodness. There’s even some grass sprinkled on top to complete the outdoorsy nature. It’s not something you’d find photographed in a cook book, because it looks depressing and possibly burnt, but the aesthetic eater’s loss is your gain. It’s a masterpiece. Of mushrooms. Not of pizzas.
