One brown the other smokey blue...

I met a man today with different coloured eyes
One brown the other smokey blue…

He looked at me with his different coloured eyes
and I knew that I would never view the world again in the same way

He took me on a journey, one I had only dreamt did exist
One filled with endless possibilties of love and sorrow too

The world was full of wonders that only he and I could see
We shared each and every moment as if no one else existed

Words spoken
Thoughts shared

Silences of understanding, no words needed to be expressed

Each day the bond grew deeper, many tears we did shed
Tears of joy, laughter and sometimes regret

With his different coloured eyes I was sucked into his world
Held fast within his warm embrace of words, love and passion

My world is still spinning, each day never to be the same
for I looked into his eyes…

    A fabulous read Alison.. xx
We can see so much through the eyes of others and this can then only enhance our vision to best see what is important for us…you ‘see’ well sweetie

  • thank you dear friend, so much can be seen through and in someone elses eyes, and once seen can never be forgotten. x

This has a lyrical quality to it that takes you along the journey of meeting this man with different coloured eyes…
The metaphor of this speaks of one of earth to me and one of the sky… this man seems to me to be a walking dichotomy of what he can see in life and also what he may want as well.
Does he reach up to sky or hold fast on the ground where his feet will feel the rich earth?
Really on the outside a simple piece but so much deeper if we see the duality of life is presented here so very very eloquently me thinks. xxxx

The eyes you describe make me think of David Bowie! I really like this story – and agree with KarenSue on the metaphor. Duality was the first thing I thought of when reading the poem – gorgeous xoxo

  • duality of a tortured soul! Thanks msdebbiexx
