Florence’s cathedral stands tall over the city with its magnificent Renaissance dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. The cathedral named in honor of Santa Maria del Fiore is a vast Gothic structure built on the site of the 7th century church of Santa Reparata, the remains of which can be seen in the crypt.

It is the fourth largest cathedral in the world. Visitors with the strength to climb the 463 steps (there is no elevator) to the top of the dome are rewarded with panoramic views of all of Florence.

As an artist and a traveler I am always exploring and learning new things. My paintings reflect my experience. I am drawn to the outdoors and nature. Most of my inspiration comes from various trips I have taken. I’ll stop and pull out a sketchbook or snap a photo, then paint the scene back in my studio. My goal is to see, feel and paint the world.
